Melbourne-based F.W Refrigerated Transport has joined several other transport companies in helping raise pancreatic and liver cancer awareness for the Pancare Foundation. All companies involved in the awareness campaign have had the Pancare Foundation logo installed on the backs and sides of their trucks.
Spearheading the campaign, is Johnny Francis, co-owner of F.W. Refrigerated Transport, based in Hallam VIC, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and has since had preventative surgery to combat the illness. He wants to do anything he can to help shed some light on these horrible cancers, “we need to increase awareness of these cancers as they have such a high mortality rate, more funds need to go to research.”
Pancreatic cancer is currently the 8th most common cause of cancer in Australia and is the 5th most common cause of death from cancer. By 2030, it is predicted to be the second leading cause of cancer death.
“When you see one of our trucks, remember you can help make a difference to the outcomes of these cancers.”
Budget Rent A Car has also taken up the challenge to help raise awareness of pancreatic, liver, biliary, oesophageal and stomach cancers and as part of a community awareness campaign, have installed the Pancare logo of the sides of several of their hire trucks.
Make sure you keep your eye out for these beauties on the road, you won’t miss them!
Pancare wishes to thank Johnny Francis of F.W. Refrigerated Transport and all involved* and Paul Wheelton of Budget Rent A Car for supporting the Pancare Foundation.
